Ruth Tolf Ansell has practiced estate planning, estate and trust administration,
probate, and related tax planning in New Hampshire since 1981. Ruth graduated from
Fordham Law School (JD 1981) and received her Masters Degree in Taxation from Boston
University School of Law (LLM Tax 1988). She practices in Bedford at the law firm of
Ansell & Anderson, P.A. Ruth is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate
Counsel, and was the state chair for New Hampshire from 1999 through 2004. She is a
member of the New Hampshire and American Bar Associations and the New Hampshire
Estate Planning Council. She was the Treasurer of the New Hampshire Bar Foundation from 2002 through 2007. Over the years, she has also been involved with the New
Hampshire Charitable Foundation and the Moore Center.

Ruth lives in Bedford with her husband, Erik Tolf. Ruth’s adult children, Gerard
Murphy and Lauren Murphy Ireland, live in New Hampshire with their spouses. Erik’s adult
sons, Tristan and Lachlan, also live nearby.
