December 16, 2016

I want to thank everyone for your service to the NHGSA and the NH tourism industry. For just January – October of this year, we already have 279 volunteers who served 17,205 hours – an increase over 2015. Amazing!

It’s been a crazy transition year, and I can’t express my gratitude for all your support. I say it all the time, but I LOVE my job as Executive Director and I LOVE being able to spend time with such an inspirational and dedicated group of people. So far this year, NH Granite State Ambassadors certified almost 90 new GSAs; we went on 14 educational tours; provided 52 different volunteer opportunities at centers, events, and trainings; managed the MHT information booth and walk-abouts; hosted our annual AMBIEs Awards Luncheon; presented 5 industry customer service workshops; participated in several informational and safety meetings; celebrated our 20th Anniversary; and had our first online auction. I’m exhausted just recapping our year and that’s not even all of it!

Most don’t realize that our small, part-time staff provide all these opportunities in 55 hours a week total. None of us are full-time, but we overlap our schedules so you always have someone available to you. NHGSA operates very frugally, and relies heavily on donations, gracious hosts, and our contracts with our key partners, the Division of Travel and Tourism and the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.

We have even more to accomplish in the year to come including expanding our front-line customer service workshop program; bringing back the National Travel Councilor Certification; developing new marketing materials; streamlining our guest services and volunteer resources; developing a new GSA Refresher workshop; developing a new self-guided tour program for our volunteers (in addition to our monthly tours); increasing our participation in NH’s university and college tourism programs; and let’s not forget about fun gatherings.
NHGSA needs your help to increase our industry position as a leader in NH hospitality, and to provide our volunteers with all the training and resources they need to be the knowledgeable, welcoming face of NH.

If you love being a GSA, and what it brings to your life, please consider a year-end tax-deductible donation to support our organization. We appreciate donations of any amount and you are welcome to choose where your dollars are spent. Click here to donate online or you can send a check to: NHGSA 241 Pine Street, Suite 1  Manchester, NH 03103.
